OVERDENTURE

The dentures are nothing but artificial teeth that are meant to replace missing teeth, and are placed on or balanced on the other teeth in the mouth. They are known as hybrid dentures or tooth-supported dentures. These dentures differ from overdentures where in the former is held in place by adhesives and in the latter they are supported by screws that are driven in to titanium dental implants that in turn rest on your jaw bone. However they look to be the same from the outside. These overdentures are made from acrylic, metal and some other durable materials.

Missing teeth can have an impact on both your ability to eat comfortably and your confidence in social situations.  Overdentures provide a solution that blends natural beauty and outstanding stability.

Overdentures, as opposed to ordinary dentures, are held in place by dental implants or intact teeth. This fresh strategy offers various benefits:

  1. Natural Appearance: Overdentures are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your existing teeth. This thorough attention to detail results in a grin that seems and feels incredibly natural.
  2. Increased Confidence: The secure fit of overdentures avoids the risk of slipping or moving during meals or discussions. This newfound confidence permits you to enjoy social encounters more freely.
  3. Improved Chewing Ability: Traditional dentures can make chewing difficult. Overdentures, which are supported by implants or teeth, give a more secure basis for chewing, allowing you to enjoy a wider range of meals in more comfort.
  4. Preserves Jawbone Health:  Missing teeth can cause bone loss in the jaw.  Overdentures, which stimulate the jawbone during chewing, assist in avoiding degeneration and preserve face structure.

Types of Overdentures:

There are two main types of overdentures:

  1. Implant-Supported Overdentures: These dentures are supported by dental implants that have been strategically inserted. This option provides the maximum level of stability and functionality.
  2. Tooth-Supported Overdentures:  These dentures rely on existing healthy teeth for support. This method may be a viable choice for people who are not eligible for implants.
