A proper dental care routine is the most important step in having healthy oral health. And the basic step is brushing your teeth daily. Many people, despite brushing twice a day develop certain dental problems. This is largely due to the absence of the right technique and methods of brushing. Here are a few tips on brushing. 

 

1.Place your toothbrush at 45 degrees angle to the gums: With a good toothbrush and pea-sized amount of toothpaste, place the brush at a 45-degree angle to the gums brush gently with a circular motion. Use a gentle toothbrush to avoid any kind of damage to the gums. 

 

2.Brush two times a day: Brushing is an important part of daily routine and doing it twice every day improves the health of the teeth and gums. It is an efficient way to clean your mouth.  

 

3.Brush for two minutes: A standard norm among dental experts is that brushing for two minutes without break is very efficient. Using an electronic toothbrush that comes with a timer. This makes different corners of the mouth accessible and results in efficient cleaning.  

 

4.Use a soft-bristled toothbrush: There is a myth about brushing that hard-bristled brushes are more efficient in removing plaque and bacteria on the teeth. But this is not true always. People with sensitive teeth should use a soft-bristled toothbrush. They help in maintaining the enamel coating on the teeth intact.  

 

5.Flossing and mouthwash: The tooth brushing routine is not just about brushing but also includes flossing and using mouthwash. The American Dental Association states that one must floss every day to keep all dental problems at bay. A mouthwash is essential for anybody who has bad breath, cavities, etc.
